"Oh Philadelphia freedom, shine on me, I love you
Shine the light, through the eyes of the ones left behind..."
Shine the light, through the eyes of the ones left behind..."
(Elton John and Bernie Taupin)
Spring is a beautiful time in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. There is the old and new architecture, side-by-side. There is the blooming Cherry Blossoms and other plants. There is the juxtaposition of trees with man-made buildings and objects.
As I view the Philly skyline, I think of how it has evolved since my Freshman year of college in 1981 (Franklin and Marshall College is an hour and a half from the city). At that time, City Hall was still Philadelphia's tallest building. Now it takes is place next to several taller, more modern skyscrapers. Together, these buildings create a beautiful, American skyline. Below is a sampling of my new photographs from two recent mornings in Philadelphia.
